History

If a CA$H'n GUN$ game reminds you a certain movie with some reservoirs and some dogs, it's normal, that's the reason why i did it!
In fact, the idea of the game came while watching KillBill. Yes, sometimes the combination of thoughts can bring you far far away... ;-)

Before creating the game, I already had its name: KillDog, the contraction of my two inspiring sources. The first version of the game was released in October 2004 inside a French magazine: « Des jeux sur un plateau ». Today, it's arriving under a new shape with a lot of improvements that will please fans of the first version as much as innocent new players who will open the box without caution... ;-)

Who is Ludovic Maublanc

Young Ludovic creates games since a very early age. Ok, they did not look wonderful at the beginning: a kind of Monopoly x12, a kind of chess with twice as many fields, with tokens and dragons (what? there weren't any dragons in the original game?). Luckily, once a teenager, he discovered role play games and dropped all the former crap. Phew, the world was saved!

It's at the end of the last century that he discovered real board games, with cards, cardboards and wooden tokens, mainly with “The Settlers of Katan”. He fell again into the trap, trying to create a version of "Civilization” but with pigeons in a park. Before finishing his new master piece, he was enrolled by friends for creating JOCADE, the first French online game shop.

Despite all the time consumed for this enterprise, he did not abandon the creation of games. Well it was too hard to resist to this temptation while surrounded all day long by piles of games… Then starts a big creation phase: 1 or 2 prototypes each month for 2 years, some of them thrown away before the ink got dry, some others that had some reasonable success…

From all of these attempts, came the first real game: “Miss Monster”, «a simulation of Miss World contest with clay monsters» (as you can see, it does not improve along the years ;-) With the help of Christophe Boelinger, the first rush, is cleaned, simplified and finaly edited as: "Monstro’Folies" (later as "Miss Monster" in Germany). It was thanks to Christophe Boelinger that Ludo got back his self-confidence and started to spend more time in creating games, more seriously.

Good resolutions bring good... games and KillDog was born: «a game of negotiations while aimed by guns» (well ok, it was not really for the “good”). The game was released at the same time as Monstro’Folies as a bonus in the French magazine "Des Jeux sur un Plateau". And because craziness attracts craziness, KillDog hits the market today under the name: CA$H’n GUN$, as a very new version thanks to the work of the crazy people of Repos production.

If you like his way of designing games and his strange sense of humor, don't worry, Ludovic Maublanc still has many original prototypes that are still waiting for an editor! You'll never be safe anymore...
